People & Lifestyle
Offering a city lifestyle and modern housing, Santana Row’s residents are mostly young professionals who may work in nearby San Jose or Silicon Valley, as well as families with young children who are not quite ready or looking to expand out into the suburbs. Everything you need, from high-end restaurants and a movie theater to casual coffee shops and a grocery store, are within walking distance, making living at Santana Row simple and easy. Residents enjoy the conveniences of a city without living in downtown San Jose, and social events are organized each month, including happy hours, holiday celebrations, seasonal festivals, and more to bring residents together and encourage a sense of belonging.
While the residential buildings are in the thick of the hustle and bustle of all Santana Row has to offer, the apartments and townhomes feel private and removed from the action. Enclosed courtyards, pools, and other common areas, as well as terraces within the apartments, create a sense of seclusion and comfort, keeping public and private life separate.
Dining, Entertainment & Shopping
From casual to gourmet and upscale to every day, Santana Row is the ultimate San Jose-area destination for dining and style. Left Bank Brasserie brings a slice of Paris to California, serving a simple, seasonal menu alongside French classics like steak tartare and trout almondine, and offering multiple options for seating, including an outdoor patio and a bustling bar. Perfect for large groups or celebrating a special occasion, Straits is a Pan-Asian-inspired eatery with large family-style dishes that transforms into a nightclub scene after the dinner rush, with a live DJ and tropical ambiance that will have you dancing into the early hours. For Italian comfort food, you can’t miss Maggiano’s and their signature pasta, shrimp scampi, chicken parmesan, and more all served in a comfortable yet polished space.
Santana Row’s shops are also unbeatable, with everything from a Tesla showroom to test out the latest vehicles from Silicon Valley to an Amazon Books offline store, where you can stock up on books, devices, toys, games, and more. An impressive selection of on-trend retail spots keeps fashion lovers in the season’s latest, including top-of-the-line clothing, shoes, and bags from Gucci, athletic wear from Lululemon, timeless classics from Vince, and basics from H&M and Madewell.
Santana Row also makes a night on the town a breeze, with a number of bars that you can easily walk to and from home. Vintage Wine Bar, Rosie McCann's Irish Pub & Restaurant, Yard House, and Sino are all great options, whether you are looking for a relaxed spot to enjoy a glass of wine, a place to have a beer and watch the game, or a nightclub scene with craft cocktails.
Things to Do
Santana Row keeps residents busy and engaged with a number of events and activities throughout the year. During the holidays, Santana Row lights up during the annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony, where residents and other San Jose-area locals come together to kick off the holiday season and enjoy live performances along with a scavenger hunt for kids and other family programming. In July, Santana Row presents the Endless Summer Wine Stroll, a tasting event showcasing Santa Clara Valley wineries along with light bites from local restaurants and live music that benefits Bill Wilson Center, a local nonprofit organization that provides support to homeless and runaway children and young adults.
Sometimes called the Rodeo Drive of the Silicon Valley, it only makes sense that Santana Row plays host to an exotic car show. Starting in February, Cars and Croissants takes place on the fourth Sunday of every other month and is heaven for local car lovers, showcasing some of the most exotic modern and vintage cars from Bay Area owners. Every February, Santana Row also plays host to the 408k Race to the Row, an 8K run and one of the Run Local™️ Bay Area Challenges. The event takes runners through some of San Jose’s most charming and iconic neighborhoods before a finish at Santana Row, all benefiting the Pat Tillman Foundation.
